Giovannini’s artistic research lives on the philosophical idea of dualism, developed following studies about memory, time, balance. The final result, the work, is then conceived with an amalgam of irony and game. One characteristic of the artist is the continuous experimentation in style and technique. Always oriented towards various means of expression. He doesn’t look for a recognizable style, but the "better way" in order to express a project. Aware that photography, video and computer are our new eyes in order to observe the world, he chooses to work filtering his own ideas through these media. Then he gives them a new life on canvas in the shape of images; manipulating and rebuilding the light, in a way similar but inverse to divisionism. The arrival point is to recreate a chromatic effect, similar to the back lighting system of the video. On one side, he creates his paintings thanks to a “maniacal” job, small touches, like screens composed by chaotic pixels... an aesthetic of fragment made of fluid colour particles. In the same time, he creates a contrast between the figurative transposition of part of the subject, and the no-definition of the entire, replacing the technical-conceptual brush of the pixel, with a more fluid and material sign ... The meticolousness with the negligence.
The choice of subjects is connected to the choice of topics: arguments, or simply facts, the artist is interested in, or even, he is just curious about. They are analyzed always considering the basic theory of dualism. So the series of works, the cycles, come into life, each one counts a various number of paintings, of various shapes and expressive techniques.
